Ideological Discourse (Political, Cultural, and National) in Mounis al-Razzaz's Novel "Living in the Dead see study

Abstract

This study focuses on the manifestations of ideological discourse in the novel "Living in the Dead Sea" by Mounis al-Razzaz, the Jordanian novelist who embodied in this novel the concerns of the political, cultural, and national reality through the novel's characters, who represent three categories of intellectuals, reflecting Mounis al-Razzaz's vision and ideologies regarding the lived Arab reality.

The study includes: an introduction that discusses discourse in general, the linguistic and terminological concept of discourse, and an analysis of ideological discourse—political, cultural, and national—in the novel "Living in the Dead Sea" in general. The study also examined the representations of the ideological discourse of the novel's main characters—Anad al-Shahid, Mithqal Tahimer al-Za'al, and al-Ghazawi—in terms of how these characters portray the novelist's ideological discourse regarding different social classes. The conclusion summarized the study's key findings.
