The study attempts to develop a partial vision of the Prophet’s Sunnah’s treatment of the problem of traffic congestion, by examining the hadiths about the virtues of congregational prayer and extracting important rules from those hadiths in order to reduce the dangers of traffic. The most important of these rules were linking Muslims to the faith motive for carrying out deeds in their lives and constantly monitoring their actions, and that when Muslims walk to the mosque, they are in fact in prayer with their Reward also being counted for pursuing that good deed. Just as the Sunnah exhorted Muslims to walk to prayer rather than ride, in a miraculous precedent in this regard, the Sunnah also called for tranquility and calm in the state of walking to prayer, and arranged, very conveniently, the arrival at and the departure from the mosque, which leads to reducing crowding and causing harm with oneself and others.
