This research seeks to shed more light on the aspects of convergence between the characteristics of argumentative theory and the controls of linguistic thinking among the Arabs, based on one of the representative models of the methodology of grammatical thinking among the Arabs (Al Insaf fi Masail Al Khilaf Bayna Al Nahawiyeen Al Basriyeen wa Al Kufiyeen).
In this context, the research focuses on the characteristic of influence and direction in the argumentative action, based on the fact that argumentation, in one of its functional aspects, is based on the characteristic of communication. “The social feature of argumentation remains a rich dimension that prompts its participants to invent various inferential methods that ensure the achievement of conviction, and then involve the other in accepting the thesis contained in the speech”.
Based on this argumentative feature in the speech, the study seeks to demonstrate the argumentative act in its participatory communicative dimension in light of Al-Anbari’s grammatical treatments and his evaluation of the arguments of the Kufans and the Basrans, by revealing the most important techniques that carried values of argumentative participation (communication) in his speech.
This study will benefit from the descriptive analytical approach in order to explain the argumentation in its communicative dimension in light of the book “Al-Insaf”, in line with what enables the authenticity of this argumentative feature in the linguistic thought of the Arabs
