This study dealt with coastal submarines and self-driving surface boats in public international law through two topics. The first topic dealt with the definition of coastal submarines and self-driving boats through two requirements. The first requirement dealt with what is meant by coastal submarines and self-driving boats. In the second requirement, the international legal challenges of coastal submarines and self-driving boats. In the second topic, the rules of public international law related to coastal submarines and self-driving boats through two requirements. The first requirement dealt with international agreements related to coastal submarines and self-driving boats. In the second requirement, the international norms applied to coastal submarines and self-driving surface boats. The study reached the conclusion that coastal submarines and self-driving surface boats constitute a huge leap in the field of maritime navigation technology, and are considered important sectors in terms of transportation, trade and maritime tourism. The researcher also concluded that it is necessary to reformulate international agreements regulating navigation and international maritime trade to suit the new circumstances that accompanied the emergence of coastal submarines and surface boats that are autonomous
